Hello, and welcome to my portfolio. My name is Michael Baker and I am a graphic and web designer based in Telford, Shropshire, England.
I've been doing graphic and web design on and off in my spare time for a couple of years now, but I've only recently started taking a serious interest in it. At the moment, I don't have a great deal to put in this portfolio, but I will keep updating this with new stuff whenever I can. You can keep track of my updating with the "What's New..." below. Take the time to have a look around and feel free to let me know what you think.
What's New...
I've just started a job as junior web designer in Shrewsbury, which is brilliant. Everyone there is really nice and helpful, and this is going to be a great oppurtunity for me to gain experience. But that does mean I'm not going to have a lot of time to keep this site up to date or do any more free jobs.
I've added a couple of new pages. "Services" detailing what sort of projects I would be willing to take on and "Links" which has links to a few of my favourite sites which have helped me with my web and graphic design. As always, check them out and let me know what you think.
I've added a new "featured work" section to the landing page, to showcase pieces of work that I've recently done. I've also re-done the "about me" page and added a "history" page, detailing how I got interested in web and graphic design.
Featured Work
This is a drawing of a PSP I created entirely from scratch in Photoshop. From start to finish, it took me about 2 hours. The hardest part of this was getting the shape of the PSP right, and making the buttons look quite realistic. All in all, I'm pretty pleased with the end result, although there are a few minor things with it which are bugging me, such as the bottom row of buttons don't look quite right to me.
